Gnocchi with classic and creamy vegan cheese sauce – AD

There are many ways to make vegan cheese sauces. Just recently, I posted a recipe where you cook pumpkin, carrot, onion and cashew nuts and then mix everything with spices. It’s super creamy and delicious too. 

This recipe is no less tasty. But it’s still a super quick alternative if you want a classic cheese sauce. With cheese. Since this recipe should still remain vegan, I used the super delicious vegan cheese from Violife. It is an incredibly great substitute for real cheese and not only that. Violife has a lot in its range. You are welcome to take a look around. 

For this recipe I used the “Original Flavor Grated”. And it’s amazing how REAL the cheese sauce tasted. Completely vegan and gluten-free (if a few of you have to pay attention), the sauce still comes with 100% flavor! Convince yourself ?.

Super easy vegan cheese sauce. This time on the classic variant with lots of vegan "grated cheese". See for yourself ?

Marie Dorfschmidt – therawberry: therawberry
Ingredients
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 medium carrot
  • 300 ml oat milk
  • 200 g “Original Flavour Grated” from Violife alternatively vegan “Grated Cheese” of your choice
  • 2 teaspoons ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 teaspoons of Italian herbs
  • 2 teaspoons of garlic powder ground
  • 2 tbsp yeast flakes – optional
  • 400 g fresh gnocchi
Instructions
  1. Prepare the gnocchi according to the instructions on the packet.
  2. Peel onion and chop finely.
  3. Wash the carrot and grate finely.
  4. Heat olive oil in a saucepan and slowly roast the onion and carrot in it.
  5. Add brown sugar and continue toasting.
  6. Add spices and fry well, then deglaze with oat milk and add vegan "cheese".

  7. Stir well and season with lemon juice and salt.
  8. Boil up once. Then remove from the stove and pour into the blender. Mix well until you have a creamy mixture.
  9. Place the gnocchi in a large bowl. Pour cheese sauce over it and stir well with a large spoon. Then divide into 4 bowls. Bon appetit!

  10. Leftover items can be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 4 days.
