Classic Semolina Porridge – vegan

I have childhood memories of this one! Either as breakfast or as a dessert. So I’ve made a vegan version of semolina porridge and cannot wait to share it with you.

Semolina is actually the term for all those little pieces that are gained from cereal grains – similar to flour. It is mostly made from wheat. Which means if you are allergic you can look for Semolina made from rye or different grains. For this recipe I’ve used rye semolina.

Ingredients

500 ml non diary milk of choice – I’ve used oat milk

100 g semolina

2-4 tbsp maple syrup (depends on your taste)

1 tbsp cinnamon

How to

Start by putting the semolina and all the ingredients into a small saucepan. Stir well and turn to maximum heat. Reduce the heat as soon as the texture starts to thicken. Continue to stir well for 1-2 minutes. Fill in a glass or bowl and arrange it as you like it. I’ve topped my porridge with some persimmon and physalis. You can go with that or choose your favorite fruits to top it with. Enjoy!

    Schmeckt wirklich toll. Muss gestehen, dass ich dem Rezept doch etwas skeptisch gegenüberstand, aber es hat sich gelohnt. Vielen Dank dafür.
